Location: where is Chalet Chez Menor

Meribel is a large and scattered resort, don't be confused, there are many smaller villages such as Raffort, Chandon and Les Allues, upto 6kms away, from the centre. This chalet is located in the centre, however the centre does not mean that the shops, bars and main lift area are all on your doorstep. All our chalets are located all round the resort centre, and only a ten minute or less walk to the shops and bars. The main lift area is slightly beyond this and although you could walk, there is no need as we operate a minibus service. Located in the heart of Meribel, Chalet Chez Menor is already an established favorite. Situated in a quieter area of Meribel centre and a neighbour of our Chalet Bouchot. Our minibus service means that one of our drivers will take you from outside your chalet down to the main lift area and ski schools in the morning, its approximately a four minute ride, at the end of the day you can text your driver for a collection home, even from the Rond Point. It is less than a five minute walk to the shops and bars of an evening.

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"Fantastic beginners ski holiday in a great chalet with wonderful hosts!"

Just returned from a great holiday at Chalet Chez Menor with fabulous hosts Sam and Laura and a great group of sociable fun people! The chalet was cosy and comfortable, and situated in a great location to Meribel town centre. We loved the added bonus of a hot tub which came in handy after a long day on the slopes! Our hosts Sam and Laura were lovely - they made us feel very relaxed and worked very hard to make sure we all had a wonderful stay. The standard of catering was excellent, we never left the table hungry! We had some delicious homemade meals, in particular, beef and ale pie, mushroom and blue cheese risotto, apple crumble, lemon tart ... The list goes on!! The bread and homemade cakes were also a delicious treat to come back to in the afternoon. We would also like to thank the minibus drivers Ed and Michael for a reliable and efficient service to the slopes every day... Meribel is a great resort for beginners and we were blessed with glorious sunshine every day and quiet slopes! We never had to queue for the lifts and the après was lively and great fun - Meribar and Folie Douce in particular! Meribel is an expensive resort (a beer was approx 7/8 euro) but we were prepared for that before we came. Laura also organised for 'Pamper off Piste' mobile massage and beauty therapists to come out to the chalet for us - a treat but thoroughly recommended. All in all, we had a fabulous holiday! Definitely recommended. Wish we could go back!

We stayed (a group of 7) with our lovely hosts Stef and Dave at Chalet Chez Menor from 11-18 Jan. The Chalet is great; spacious, massive boot room, amazing views from the breakfast table. Our hosts Stef and Dave were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they were very friendly and always on hand to help out. They whipped up some culinary masterpieces during our stay, kept the chalet in A1 condtion and provided plenty of humour, we could not ask for anything more. Easily the best hosts over my last 10 seasons boarding. Stef and Dave were supported by Elliot our driver and Ellie our rep. Elliot is a great bloke and he always went the extra mile,no pun intended.... Ellie was very nice and popped in every night and made sure that we were all ok. All in all a great a holiday. Room for improvement... Well a hot tub on the balcony would not go a miss, but other than that I can't think of anything else.. I would definately recomend a stay here this season..

This was the first time that we had ever stayed in a catered chalet and we were initially unsure what to expect. We appreciated the drink and home made flapjack on the coach trip up the mountain, and being given our lift passes before reaching the resort, but this really was just the start of a perfect holiday. Steph and Dave greeted our coach and helped carry the luggage to the chalet. They were both very friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Dave's culinary expertise both at breakfast and the evening three course meals was brilliant and everything was delicious, whilst Steph surpassed herself with the wonderful cakes that we came back to, after a long days skiing. She even made a three tiered chocolate birthday cake for one of our group! The chalet itself was very comfortable with fantastic views and Meribel is probably one of the most picturesque resorts that we have visited over the years. Rory, was very helpful driving us to and from the centre each day, and provided us with up to date weather forecasts to help us decide where it would be best to ski. We had a mixture of sunny and snowy days which made for perfect piste conditions and amazing powder. We managed to explore quite a bit of the Trois Vallees, but given the size of the ski area, there are many more holidays to be had here. Overall, it was a brilliant holiday and one we shall never forget. Our heartfelt thanks go to Steph, Dave, Rory, Tom & Sophie for looking after us so well and we would definitely recommend this chalet to everyone and would certainly return.
