The chalet is a great base of operations for a week in Val Thorens! The rooms are comfortably sized -not huge but certainly larger than some I've had and all have balconies overlooking the resort which is a nice touch, particularly when watching the resort fireworks. 2300m at the top of the Three Valleys ski area, VT is the highest ski resort in Europe and part of the biggest linked ski area on the planet. While it's a place for people who, above all else, love to ski, you'll also find some of the country's best après including the legendary Folie Douce, as well as weird and wonderful activities like the 1300m Tyrolienne zip wire. Olde worlde gallic charm it isn't, but skiers will wake up to find some of the best snow in the Alps on their doorstep, and the views over the...
At the summit of the largest ski area in the world and bordering the Vanoise National Park, this is a spectacular place to ski and board. Beginners are well catered for on nursery slopes by the Rond Point des Pistes, where the magic carpets often don't require a lift pass. Kids will love the Junior Park, while the Musaraigne and Campagnols runs in the beginner's area and the new Deux Combes green are perfect to practice on. With a bit more confidence, take the Pionniers or Plein Sud chairs for some cruisy lon...
The après ski here easily rivals other top resorts in the Alps. If you haven't already had the Folie Douce experience, head just under the Plein Sud lift where the "dancefloor on top of the world" is heaving from 3 pm. Another place to party is Bar 360 at the end of the blue Moraine run, which always has live music and cheaper drinks. Back in town, Rue de Gebroulaz is a hub of lively bars where O'Connells is the local Irish pub. The Frog and Roastbeef is a long-time favourite of Brits. L'Eclipse on Galerie Caro...

"Lovely chalet, great food!"

Stephanie, Surrey
4/ out of 5
We had a lovely time, the girls who were our hosts were really nice and the food was incredible! I hadn’t been on a chalet holiday before but my friend who came with me had, and said that usually the chalet food was awful. The types of meals they did were always really nice, with mains like salmon parcels. I’m allergic to dairy and they made me the same meal as everyone else was having, just without the dairy – sometimes you end up having to eat a completely different meal or a bowl of salad, but this was really nice! We stayed here quite late in the season and it was getting quite low on snow towards the end of the week. We are both experienced skiers so it wasn’t a problem, but the slope that goes down nearest to the chalet was quite steep and mogully which wouldn’t have been great for less confident skiers. The location is good in that you have access to the spa and there’s also a little supermarket nearby, so everything’s just a short walk away.

"Great location, decent chalet"

The chalet is a great base of operations for a week in Val Thorens! The rooms are comfortably sized -not huge but certainly larger than some I've had and all have balconies overlooking the resort which is a nice touch, particularly when watching the resort fireworks. The living/dining area fitted all 14 of us easily but the layout of the room could be better (though I suspect this is a concession to the shape of the room). The 2 hosts we had did a good job and the food was decent throughout with my highlight being the duck on the final evening. This chalet is all about location and ski access is easy when leaving (via an elevator and short walk down to piste side) though slightly fiddly on the way back and some of the routes back down may not suit a beginner. As well as the simple ski access, the nearest hire shop is a stones throw from the door. The best feature of the complex was the free spa- I'd thought it would be a small pool and tiny sauna but was pleasantly surprised at the setup first hand. It's only a short walk from the chalet and, aside from a pool that looks out on to the resort, has a steam room, sauna, and 2 jacuzzis- all of which were used by our group.

Localised near a number of similar chalets and overlooking the delightful resort centre of VT. This is a very popular choice of accommodation for a catered stay in the jaw dropping Three Valleys, because of the unparalleled accessibility to the piste (25metres), close proximity to shops and popular bars, and the town an easy five minute walk away - you have everything you need ready and waiting on your doorstep. The additional relaxation facilities are also varied and of high quality, adding that little je ne sais quoi to an already incredible ski trip.
