Location: where is Chalet Atlas

The location of Chalet Atlas is tough to beat, sat on the Chemin de Crouze, you'll find the Chardonnet lift and piste just 150m away, and the shops, bars and restaurants of Tignes Le Lac just a further 100m. The Aeroski gondola is also close by, just a five minute walk from the Chalet and you can hop on the lift which connects Tignes to Val d'Isère. If you're looking to explore Val Claret, there is a bus stop nearby which will whisk you there in no time at all.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Atlas description

Chalet Atlas is an excellently designed, traditional chalet in a superb location in Tignes Le Lac. Spread across two floors, Chalet Atlas has six comfortable bedrooms sleeping up to fifteen guests, making it a great choice for a large family or group of friends. The huge windows and sun terrace provide the perfect opportunity to admire the picturesque views of the frozen lake of Tignes.

Entrance to the chalet is on the first floor, where you'll find a heated boot room and ski locker, perfect for keeping your equipment safe and your feet toasty warm each morning. There are two comfortable bedrooms on this floor, each with its own en-suite shower room. One of the bedrooms has two twin beds (90cm x 190cm) and the other bedroom with two distinct sections, with two twin beds (90cm x 190cm) and two bunk beds (90cm x 190cm). The larger of the two bedrooms also opens out onto the large balcony, which runs along the front of the building, shared with the kitchen and dining room and commanding stunning views towards the frozen lake.

On the first floor, there is also a fully equipped semi-professional kitchen, completely in stainless steel with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetière, and a spacious dining room, perfect for sociable meals with friends and family and a cosy living room, with log fire, perfect for snuggling up and watching a good film on the large flat screen television.

On the ground floor there are a further four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room and terrace. Three of the bedrooms have twin beds (90cm x 190cm) and the final bedroom, similar to the first floor, has two distinct halves to the room, one with twin beds (90 x 190cm) and the other half with two bunk beds (90cm x 190cm). For a bit of added luxury to help ease the aches and pains of a tough day on the slopes, the Atlas also has its own sauna and outdoor hot-tub in which to relax.

There is free WI-Fi throughout the chalet, perfect if you need to work whilst away, or stream your favourite film or TV shows whilst relaxing in front of the roaring fire. If you're travelling by car, there is no parking available at the chalet itself, as due its altitude and heavy annual snowfall, it's not possible to park outdoors. However, there is covered parking available for 90 Eur per week in Tignes Le Lac or a free, uncovered carpark in Tignes Les Boisses (5km away by free skibus).

Classic Contactless Catering Service

Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

We update Chalet Atlas's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"SUPERB"

A superb week! The young kids who looked after us were absolutely fabulous, they went above and beyond with the welcome they gave us and made sure we were comfortable. I was very happy with the chalet itself, it’s a lovely place, very modern and clean. They had a nice menu of different dishes, with great potion sizes. If you didn’t fancy what was on offer they’d make you something else. The chalet is located a 5-10 minute walk from the ski area, some people didn’t like that you had to go up and down a bit of a hill, but I was in snowboard boots so it was fine. Hadn’t been to Tignes before, the whole thing was booked last minute four days before I set off – but I’d definitely look at going to Tignes early in the season next year.

"Near the lift, terrific view of lake from sun terrace"

With unbelievable views over the lake from the sun terrace, a sauna and an outdoor hot tub, you’ll have no problem relaxing off the slopes in the Atlas. Getting to the piste in the morning is a synch too, with the Chardonnet chairlift only 150 metres away. The wood panelled walls and open fire place give the chalet a homely feel- watching the snow fall on the frozen lake through the floor to ceiling windows is another great way to unwind.
