Overview: chalet description: Cala 301 description

A spacious and sophisticated four-bedroom apartment just off the piste

The exquisite Cala 301 is part of a newly completed complex located in the sought-after Le Legettaz area of Val d'Isère, with Ski in Ski out access connecting you directly to Solaise lift station. It sits opposite the famous La Face Piste, offering breathtaking views of the dramatic landscape surrounding it. This four bedroom apartment is the ideal winter retreat for a ski-loving family or a group of friends seeking luxurious living in one of the world's most sophisticated ski resorts.

Oozing contemporary style while maintaining a sense of alpine authenticity, guests to Cala 301 will be quickly won over by the apartment's effortless sophistication. Each detail has been considered, resulting in a minimalist-feeling apartment that is still warm and inviting, but immensely spacious and tranquil.

The luxury Val d’Isère apartment occupies two floors and has four bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, shower rooms or both bath and shower. It also has a small sauna with dedicated shower and a fabulous outdoor hot tub for guests, providing a fantastic wellness element.

Guests enter Cala 301 on the first floor of the complex, which is the lower floor of the two-level apartment. The reception area offers plenty of storage for winter accessories. Heading left, you will enter the open plan dining and living area. This is a fabulous, expansive space with each area feeling very distinct. Beautiful reclaimed wood used generously on the walls and ceilings creates a traditional chalet feeling, while the finest quality furnishings and bold pieces of furniture add glamour and fun. The dining table is understated and elegant, surrounded by ghost chairs which contribute to the apartment's decadent sense of space. Ten people can be seated comfortably here. The table is lit up by a trio of edgy pendulant lamps and from it, guests can enjoy the views framed by large windows and glass doors which lead onto the balcony. Natural light spills into the room by day. Looking onto the dining area is the fully-equipped kitchen, a space that has been fastidiously designed to provide maximum functionality, without skimping on style. Chrome appliances, wooden cabinets, and grey marble counter tops work together to create a smart and contemporary kitchen.

The living room extends to the left of the dining area and there is a delightful additional seating area between the dining and living space, where a number of comfortable animal hide armchairs are positioned. This is an ideal spot to gather for a game of cards, to share a drink, or to escape to with your book. The living area itself is presided over by a large apricot-coloured leather sofa and a number of other armchairs and footstools enable all guests to gather here in comfort. There is a large wood-burning fireplace built into a beautiful stone wall. Guests can also step outside onto the balcony through a set of large glass doors which provide more fabulous views from the couch. A small office nook can be found behind the TV.

The first of the three bedrooms on this floor is located behind the living area. It enjoys a wonderful bathroom, with a free-standing tub, a separate shower and a private toilet. In this bedroom, as in all the apartment's bedrooms, there is a desk as well as a mounted TV. This room has quick access to the outdoor hot tub which sits on the terrace right outside the bedroom. The second bedroom on this floor is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The third is a stunning double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a separate shower. There is no toilet here but guests occupying this room have access to a WC in the passageway, next to which is a shower room and a small sauna room.

A flight of stairs takes you up to the fourth bedroom, a large double bedroom located in the eaves of the building. It has an en-suite shower room and also enjoys access to a spacious terrace through large glass doors, through which daylight spills. As with all the bedrooms, there is a very restful ambience here, achieved by an earthy palette and exquisite, natural fabrics.

The apartment enjoys use of private laundry facilities and a ski room with private ski lockers.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
