We had a great week. The chalet has great contemporary decor and was very comfortable and our hosts dealt with all our miscellaneous requests very smoothly. The only downside on location is some late night noise from the hotel over the road. + more

Bellevarde Lodge Merlot is situated right on the edge of the Santons piste, so offers ski in - ski out accommodation with a track leading down to the Olympic lift area from behind the chalet.

This is the perfect choice for a group of family or friends seeking a ski in ski out chalet in Val d’Isere. This package holiday to Bellevarde Lodge Merlot in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 7th January 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. "Everything we needed and more"

Claire Wells

We had been to this lodge 9 years ago and it was better than I remembered. Clean, cosy, welcoming, spacious with comfortable beds and lovely views. Our hosts, Matt & Briony were the icing on the cake: Stunning food enjoyed by adults and kids alike, Welcoming every morning and evening, they were offering helpful suggestions before we needed to ask for a thing. They were fantastic with the kids – clearly experienced with how to talk to kids and make parents feel relaxed! We could not have asked for more. We would dearly love to come back next year but we will be sad if they aren’t here!! I feel they worked very well as a team with their own roles to make us feel relaxed. My only constructive feedback of the holiday is that the hairdryer are so ineffectual. I think it would be better to advertise without hair dryers (I would have bought my own) or upgrade them. All in all 5 star.
