Overview - chalet description - Bellevarde Lodge Chablis description

Looking to ski in Val d'Isere, then Bellevarde Lodge Chablis may be the perfect chalet for you.

Bellevarde Lodge Chablis is an imposing stone-and-timber chalet situated on the edge of the Santons piste. Yes, this means you really can click in and out of your bindings a few steps up from the ski room door. There's also a shuttle service which operates in the morning and the afternoon to whisk you to and from the piste.

We used genuine old timbers from a local dismantled farmhouse, Italian marble in the bathrooms and some rather lovely parquet on the floor. The vaulted sitting room has an open fireplace, floor to ceiling glass and abundant plump and inviting sofas from which to enjoy the breath-taking view.

There are six en suite bedrooms on the first and second floor making this a perfect choice for a group of family or friends. Chablis has a combination of Twin and Double bedrooms, all with en suite bath, hand basin and WC. Four of the rooms also have a balcony.

Your dedicated chalet hosts will be on hand to ensure you have all the information you need and will serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3 course dinner with wine on 6 evenings. After a hard day on the slopes, the terrace hot tub is the perfect venue for beer and bubbles or head next door and relax in our pool and spa complex.

This package holiday to Bellevarde Lodge Chablis in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 11th February 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 92 restaurants, you'll find dishes to suit all tastes from traditional Savoyarde indulgence to Marga...

After navigating the narrow snowy streets in our 54 seater bus for 16, we were greeted warmly by our fantastic hosts Andy and Ellie. The staff organised our chaotic two families ski gear the evening we arrived, cooked a great meal and got us all in bed early!! During the week – any issues were immediately addressed, any requests were met if possible, even a fab milk frother! The 7 noisy children were all fed first – their dietary whims catered to, in order to allow adults to have a relaxing evening meal with free flowing wine. So many foodie highlights – baked Camembert, chocolate and Guinness cake for afternoon tea, duck with braised lentils….. We are all leaving fat and happy. We spent every evening soaking tired skiing muscles in the spa on the balcony overlooking the magical Alps and beautiful clear starry sky. Thank you especially Guillaume, Ellie and Andy and Tom from maintenance who dismantled the spa to retrieve a child’s necklace.

What an amazing experience this has been. The hosts went beyond to make everything comfortable. The food preparation and timing of meals was perfectly suited to families and delicious! Actually felt for the first time a relaxed ski holiday due to being looked after. They respected family dynamics and we felt totally comfortable being ourselves. These two hosts are a true asset to the company, wish we could pack them and take them home! Our family will have the most beautiful memories we will keep close forever.
