Location: where is Bear Lodge

A fantastic ski in – ski out location in the very heart of Arc 1950. Situated along the side of the Baptiste Giabiconi blue piste and opposite the Marmottes and Bois de L'Ours chairlifts. The whole resort completely pedestrianised and car-free, you can literally ski right through the centre.

Overview: chalet description: Bear Lodge description

***Brand NEW for the 2021/22 season***
* Ski in/Ski out * Spa * Pool * Gym * Cinema Room * Restaurant *
We really do think we've hit the jackpot with the latest new addition to our property portfolio.

Bear Lodge is the heart and soul of our new piste side resort in the centre of Arc 1950. Just thirty bedrooms along the side of the Baptiste Giabiconi blue piste and opposite the Marmottes and Bois de L'Ours chairlifts. You can reach out and touch the skiers from your balcony and ski away from the concierge managed ski room and rental shop.

There are three types of bedroom, each with bundles of storage room, comfy beds to lay your head, somewhere to charge your phone and plenty of light to read your favourite novel; twin rooms, family suites with twin beds and a bunk bed den for the kids (half price) and pairs of adjoining rooms for Mum, Dad, longer kids and/or a more generous budget.

There is a spacious lounge, bar and dining room to which we've tried to add every conceivable toy, from proper size pool complex with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi to the massage suites, gym, cinema, kids play room and concierge ski room with rental shop. There is even a small conference room for the more conscientious or tax aware.

As one of our dedicated family properties, infants and children are welcome in the hotel all season long and we offer a private nanny service to ensure both parents and children alike get the most out of their weeks holiday.

A short walk across the piste is the completely charming and rather magical traffic free village of Arc 1950. An extraordinary high altitude intersection of pistes and forty charismatic shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. We're super excited to be adding this fabulous hotel to our portfolio for the 2020/21 season and believe Bear Lodge delivers the ultimate skiing venue. The perfect base from which to explore the extensive Paradiski area.

The images you can see are all CGI but our animation boys know exactly how we build and how we furnish, everything is to scale from the architect plans.

This package holiday to Bear Lodge in Les Arcs, France departs Sunday 14th April 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

Les Arcs came to be in 1968 after a group of ski instructors and architects dreamt up a resort with all the perks of a village but a mountainside location. It grew into one of the largest, most incredible ski areas in the Alps. The closest airport is Chambery with a transfer time of a couple of hours, plus transport links from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble. Present-day Les Arcs consists of four main purpose built villages. The original resort, Arc 1600, was created for doorstep skiing and is linked by a funicular ...
As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. For beginners, each of the 3 main Arcs has 'ski tranquille' zone, and the wide beginner runs leading to the resort have gentle gradients perfect for practising. Local instructors are on hand to show you the ropes, with ski schools based in each of the main villages (1800 has the most). There are magic carpet lifts at 1800 and 2000 - an easy way for newbies to get up ...
If you're looking for a party, Arc 1800 is the place to be. With heaps of watering holes like the Red Hot Saloon (or the 'Red Bar' to use local lingo), Benji's and La Folie Douce. If you're looking for more of a French-style après spot, Ambiente Cafe has a really cool atmosphere and lots of nice cocktails (happy hour usually starts at 4) while Le club 1950 your venue if you're looking to party into the wee hours. Arc 1600's a little quieter but for good music and a scenic terrace check out Les 2 Têtes. In te...
