In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Great chalet!"

The chalet was great; food was really good – everything was really good! I really enjoyed staying here and the staff were good fun, it all suited me well. The chalet is very close to the slopes which was perfect, it just took a 2-3 minute walk. My bedroom was perfect in terms of storage and comfort. Val d’Isere was good, I had a couple of days of white out but the majority of the week was fine.

"Great chalet, perfect location and to top it off the perfect chalet host."

We travelled as a family with an eight and a four old and my parents one of which doesn't ski. The chalet is in a perfect location for both skiers and non skiers. Our chalet host Mimi was absolutely lovely. She was so accommodating and nothing was a problem. She was lovely with our children and made sure that we were looked after all week. The food has been unbelievable and with a separate meal time for our children we were able to relax and put the children to bed before we had our meal. The chalet had a communal area where we spent most evenings before dinner chatting to other guests and the children made friends to play pool with! The chalet manager Seb was fantastic too. He just wanted to make sure our holiday was perfect in every way. Thank you so much to both Mimi & Sebastian for such a great week....hope to see you again next year.

"A very good product."

We have had a very relaxed ,enjoyable week in the hands of our chalet host Niall . We have been cooked hearty breakfasts and treated to afternoon cakes, Niall has cooked us some delicious meals when our three kids are tucked up in bed. This is our second time staying at Aspen and we have been blessed with dump after dump of snow this week which has meant we have skied hard during the day and put our feet up when finished . It has been another experience here which has worked very well for us and our children. We believe that in a scenario like this the chalet hosts can make ones holiday that bit more special. Niall has been fantastic with the kids and a pleasure to have around. He is tidy, efficient, sociable and has been a great host. We are sure that he will make a huge success of himself and the tour operator have once again chosen their staff very well. We have also had a very lovely, kind nanny called Yasmin who has helped get the kids ready in the morning, take them to ski school and enabled us to enjoy our holiday. The kids have warmed enormously to both Niall and Yasmin.Thank you

"Excellect accommodation, friendly and helpful host, food disappointing"

Accommodation was excellent. The communal area downstairs was great too. Rachel, our chalet host was friendly and very helpful. If we wanted something extra she did her best to make sure we got it. I have never had that experience with another ski company The trouble was she has no idea how to cook. At that stage in the season they should be able to prepare the food blindfolded. 1. I have never tasted pancakes as heavy and as tasteless 2. The cafetiere was plunged immediately meaning the coffee was weak and not "brewed". Surely someone showed her how to use one. 3. There was one main course that was considered inedible by some of our group. I just considered it as "not that nice" 4. Her pannacotta was poor. I wondered if she actually knew what one was outside of her experience of this chalet company 5. Croissants we burnt at least twice 6. *** Two or three of her cakes were lovely, with the cinnamon and apple one being the best cake I can remember having on a ski trip*** My wife thought that the combinations of food on many of the main courses were odd to say the least Thanks Pat
