Many of we seasoned skiers and seasonaires have attended ski and snowboarding shin-digs in fancy dress but, of the hundreds who arrived to party on the piste last month at the Tianchi International Ski Resort, in Urumqi, Xinjiang province, some were wearing costumes with a less insulation than you might expect.<\/p>\n

While most guests arrived in outfits that were strange in the extreme, maximum kudos has to go to the two dozen who sallied forth onto the snow in their birthday suits.\u00a0 Braving both the sub-zero temperatures and (unsurprisingly) a lot of attention from fellow revellers and media alike, they slid out onto the piste with either\u00a0 <\/span>sno<\/span><\/a> clothes (a few really were sporting only skis, boots and their own “equipment”) or very nearly skiing naked.<\/p>\n

I think my favourite part of the photo above is the chap standing primly with his clip board to judge the winners!<\/p>\n

The Naked Pig Event<\/em> has nothing to do with pork and the contest is not for the shy among us, drawing at least two male skiers who “tackled” the mountain completely nude save for their skis, boots and hats.<\/p>\n
