The ski season starts in a month, and in preperation Mother Nature’s been lowering temperatures and sprinkling the Alps with a lovely layer of the white stuff. If it continues as it looks set to, this could be one of the greatest season beginnings for years… Here’s what ten of our favourite resorts looked like earlier today:\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

Courchevel<\/a><\/span>, France<\/span><\/h3>\n

Temperature: -11\u00b0C to -4\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: The freezing point is at 900m at the moment and it\u2019s snowy, with a base of 45cm in resort and 80cm at the top of the ski area. The lifts have opened early and people have been out and about enjoying the slopes in La Croisette – we wish we were too! It\u2019s due to clear up with sunshine on Saturday, with the snow returning on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tignes<\/a><\/span>, France<\/span><\/h3>\n

Temperature: -11\u00b0C to -6\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: There\u2019s 40cm of fresh snow up on the Grande Motte glacier making the depth at the top of the ski area 130cm. Le Lac\u2019s had a 30cm top up, leaving 60cm in resort. The sun is due to make an appearance on Saturday, with a mix of snow and sun next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les Arcs<\/a><\/span>, France<\/span><\/h3>\n

Temperature: -15\u00b0C to -4\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: A snowy day today, with the freezing level at 1100m and due to drop tomorrow. Clearer weather on Saturday, with more snow predicted on Sunday and Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature: -8\u00b0C to -6\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: Light snow today, with heavier falls expected tomorrow as the temperature drops.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: Overcast and snowy on the mountain and in resort, with the freezing point at 1000m. The sun might peep between the clouds tomorrow, but it will be cloudier on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature: -4\u00b0C to 0\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: It\u2019s snowing, and it\u2019s expected to continue snowing into tomorrow morning before it dries up with a mix of clouds and sunshine. This snowboarder\u2019s clearly making the most of it, and we\u2019re green with envy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature: -14\u00b0C to -7\u00b0C<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: there\u2019s 55cm of snow in resort, and 85cm up at 3000m. \u2018Intense snow showers\u2019 are predicted for this evening, following a snow-filled morning and afternoon today. More snow is expected on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: Snow, snow, and more snow to come on Sunday and Monday, with a sunny interval tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: If the town looks this snowy, you can imagine how white things are higher up. Verbier\u2019s seeing fresh snow today, with sun, cloud and low temperatures tomorrow. More snow\u2019s due on Sunday and Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current conditions: the snowflakes have been falling today, and are expected to start again on Sunday after a clear, cold day tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n
