Has it really been\u00a018 years since the birth of the\u00a0McSki? Though it feels like only\u00a0yesterday, it was back in\u00a01996\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0McDonald’s empire reached out to\u00a0the skiing world, establishing the\u00a0\u00a0first ever<\/em> ski-through fast-food restaurant in the Swedish resort of Lindvallen. Unfortunately we don’t have any embarrassing pictures of the\u00a0McSki through the years, but we do have this rather lovely shot from our friend Ola:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Who knows what lies in store for the famous branch, now it’s\u00a0officially an adult \u2014 dare we hope for the pitter patter of little Mcski feet?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Well, while we wait, those who can be bothered to remove their skis will\u00a0find the\u00a0traditional\u00a0walk-in restaurants in a select few ski resorts\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Forget tartiflette \u2015bag a Big Mac in Megeve<\/a><\/span>,<\/strong> a Double Cheeseburger in Chamonix<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>or a Sundae in Serre Chevalier<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>on your next ski holiday in France.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swap fondue for those salty Fries in Switzerland\u2019s Zermatt <\/strong><\/a><\/span>and Interlaken<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, or if you\u2019re in Austria, wave Auf Wiedersehn to schnitzel for a McFlurry in St Johann<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a Filet-o-Fish in Kitzb\u00fchel<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>or a McMuffin in Zell am See<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Escudella is so pass\u00e9 in Andorra\u2019s Pas de la Casa<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, so you might as well eat McNuggets all week. Of course, a cheeky burger where it all began in America’s always tempting… There\u2019s a Maccy D\u2019s in Aspen<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Vail<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Steamboat<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Winter Park <\/strong><\/a><\/span>and Jackson Hole<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>or you can cross the border to Canada for a Chicken Legend in Banff<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Whistler<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>or Mont Tremblant<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
