Inside the chalet hotel was nice and clean, it was quite a quiet week so wasn’t packed and was probably only 70% occupied with a majority of the guests being English. The room was clean - not huge but a reasonable size. The boot room is very accessible and has heated boot things which worked fine. The chalet people were charming and couldn’t have been more accommodating.
The food was very good, everyone dined together as they do in a chalet hotel and afternoon tea was always soup and cake. We sat outside quite a lot because it was sunny which was nice.
The only thing I would say is that it was a bit of a hike to get to the slopes if there isn’t any snow at the bottom (which was the case when we were here in April), because the chalet hotel is laid back off the main road. When they drop you off, you have to drag your bags for the 5 minute walk to the hotel. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to the main lift as you have to take a 5 minute zig-zag route up a hill to get to the bus stop (walking back is not an issue as it’s downhill). There is a little bus that goes past the door but only every so often, so you have to get your timings right (the timetable is on the bus post and the chalet staff should know too). If you don’t mind getting up early to catch it, you can get this bus to the door and back. There is a little two person chair lift that is closer than the main lift and takes about 10 minutes to walk to, but we found it easier to get one of the buses.

The Alexandra was good and we had a really good week. It was the last week of the season (or maybe the second last week) so it wasn’t fully occupied which was good. Our room was actually really big with 3-4 beds but this was maybe related to the fact that the chalet wasn’t fully occupied. We had a really nice view - we could see the mountains from bed and there was also a balcony. The shower room was perfectly fine too.
We didn’t hang around much in the chalet apart from the mornings and evenings as you’re there for the skiing, but the staff were very nice and the service was good – everyone in the chalet was extremely pleased to be there. We had a breakfast and evening meal every night apart from the one evening when the staff are off.
There was a ski bus stopping right in front of the chalet, but the service was obviously limited as it was the last week of the season. If you just walk 2 to 3 minutes (this is walking slowly with skis and boots) there’s a bus stop higher up that has a more frequent service.

Its a traditional Austrian chalet and is in an ideal location, close to the piste and close to the resort centre too, so you can easily explore all that Lech has to offer. You are only a short walk away to the Schlosskopt lift, which whisks you up and away to hit the slopes up top, and its nice to not have a long walk at the end of the day too. The sauna / Jacuzzi are located on the lower floor where you can relax with friends and family (check this is available before you book). Lech is known for being a very classy destination and the old fashioned look and feel of this chalet hotel is a perfect match for it. Its also a great value way to stay in a famously high end resort.
