SNO-man says
With not-skiing being the main activities in Uludag, facilities rival those of the best mountain resorts in the world. They include two ice rinks, several indoor pools, saunas, Jacuzzis, massage, gymnasia, squash courts - almost everything except a Turkish Bath in fact (you need t head down to Bursa for that). Sledging and Turkish folk including belly dancing evenings are organised locally. There are good medical facilities in Uludag and six private hospitals in the region. A trip (or several) to Bursa has to be made during your stay. Of the many sites worthy of a visit, one not to be missed is a visit to one of the centuries old public baths (separate bathing times for men and women) with their ancient traditional procedures and optional subsequent 'rough but rewarding' Turkish massage. The baths are filled by the warm and curative thermal springs as they have been for at least two thousand years.
Probably the most famous monument in the area is the 'Green' Mosque although the 20 domed 14th century Great Mosque gives it a run for its money. The 15th century Nurat Evi, a house decorated in the style of the Ottoman nobility is also worth a visit, as is the bazaar. A day trip to Istanbul from Bursa is a realistic possibility with a low priced 20 minute flight on a small plane with a morning flight returning late afternoon. Many international guests tend to spend a few days in Istanbul at the start or end of their trip to Uludag however.
