Silver Start has two ski areas - Vance Creek and the newer Putnam Creek. The resort has an 1890s style base village and operates what was the longest detachable quad in Canada. Silver Star has tripled in size in the past decade and is continuing to expand now under joint ownership with neighboring Big White. It doesn't bother much with snow making because its totally unnecessary - getting so much of the natural stuff. Silver Star is also a world renowned early-season cross country ski centre, particularly popular with Canadian and US cross-country and biathlon teams.

The National Altitude Training Centre is located in the resort and features wax room, weight training, and a full-service day spa.
The indoor rock-climbing wall is the largest in British Columbia and is located in the National Altitude Training Centre. With a full complement of trained instructors and climbing equipment, it will challenge beginners and experts alike.
The Adventure Park is host of a whole range of fun family activities. Speed downhill on inner-tubes at Tube Town; a safe controlled environment complete with a fast tube ride so you don't even have to walk to the top. Pick-up an informal game of shinny or spin a triple-lutz on the 2.5 acre natural outdoor skating pond. The fun continues with snowshoe tours through the forests with an interpretive guide, snowmobile tours through breathtaking backcountry, and mini-snowmobiles on a special course just for kids!
