Established in 1941 the French ski resort Serre Chevalier lies at 1200 metres altitude in the Hautes - Alpes region of the French Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 2830m Serre Chevalier ski area is snow sure. Over 493 snow cannons ensure artificial Serre Chevalier snow making covers 146km of ski trails, which equates to around 31 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Serre Chevalier (France) is Turin / Torino at a distance of 110km or approximately 120 minutes driving time. Serre Chevalier ski season runs from December to May.

"Serre Che" is made up of thirteen villages (three main ones) spread out for 6km along the Guisane Valley floor from Briancon. The north facing larch-lined slopes above (most over 2000m ) are lift linked all the way from the town.

There's a good selection of non-skiing activities in the area, including snow shoeing and an ice driving circuit for quad bikes and go karts in Villeneuve and a choice of five hang gliding and paragliding schools spread out across all the bases. There are ice rinks in Chantemerle and Villeneuve. Villeneuve has a number of unique facilities in the valley including horse riding, a sleigh or carriage ride business, the Iscles indoor swimming pool complex and a bridge club which operates two evenings per week. It is also the location of a leisure park with a nature theme. Monetier has ta sacred art museum and offers free village tours. Both Chantemerle and Villeneuve have fitness centres. Each base has a library and a cinema. "Les Grande Bains" in Nonetier - Over 4500m dedicated to rest and relaxation. many activities such as the natural hot water: indoor pool, water-massage course, bubble beds, spouts... roman bath features, steam room, soft water pool, children's area, jacuzzi, water fall, musical grotto, outdoor pool, terrace - solarium, health and beauty institute.
