San Martino has a concentration of quaint stores and boutiques. There are also gastronomic speciality shops offering tastings of the typical pork butcher's produce and the famous cheeses. Dedicated shoppers will want to make a trip down to Primiero where they can visit various craft shops. For example weaving by hand on old looms according to patterns handed down from father to son to create linen for the home, bedspreads and cloth for traditional outfits. Wood sculpture is also in evidence with a particular speciality the creation of little nativity scene statues and faces of the Madonna carved in Cembra Pine wood which keeps its unmistakable scent for years.
Still more unusual the manufacture by hand of musical instruments (violins and violas) using the precious wood from the "resonant firs" of the Paneveggio forest. Decorative painting on furniture and wooden objects in Tyrolean style is also on display and for sale.
