Mt Bachelor Child Care

Mt Bachelor has excellent daycare facilities for children. There are 2 daycare centres, one in the lower level of the West Village Lodge and the other in the lower level of the Sunrise Lodge. Both daycare centres are state-licenced facilities and caregivers are highly trained professionals. Children aged from 6 weeks up to 29 months will be cared for by a staff-to-child ratio of 1-4 while children from 30 months and over are in a staff-to-child ratio of 1-10. There are planned activities to entertain children throughout the day including storytime, movietime and crafts. Children over 4 years could have combination daycare which includes a 1/2 day lesson as well as the usual play activities. Daycentre caregivers will assist with ski rentals, escort your child to lessons and provide lunch. Mt Bachelor run several youth ski programs for children from 5 years up to 16 year olds, theres Junior Mighty Mites for the 5 to 8 year olds with a minimum requirement that they can ride the lift, stop and do linked turns. Mighty Mites for the 8 to 11 years age range requires that they can ride lifts and be comfortable on intermediate slopes whilst the MTV (More Terrain and Vertical) is an advanced program for 10 to 16 year olds who should be comfortable on groomed black runs. Children are grouped by their skill ability and emphasis is placed on terrain safety and mountain awareness in all the programs.
