Established in 1910 the Italian ski resort Madesimo lies at 2948 metres altitude in the Lombardy / Lombardia region of the Italian Alps / Alpes. Over 60 snow cannons ensure artificial Madesimo snow making covers 13km of ski trails, which equates to around 75 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Madesimo (Italy) is Milan / Milano at a distance of 140km or approximately 150 minutes driving time. Madesimo ski season runs from December to April.

For a comparatively small resort it has a strong international reputation, including the famous 3km 'Canalone' black descent. An underground funicular railway lifts skiers from Campodolcino (1096m) to Motta Alp (1720m) in just three minutes.
