Established in ? the Slovenian ski resort Kobla lies at 1480 metres altitude in the Bohinj region of the Slovenian Julian Alps. With the highest lifts and ski slopes below 2500m Kobla ski area is not snow sure. Over ? snow cannons ensure artificial Kobla snow making covers 4km of ski trails, which equates to around 80 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Kobla (Slovenia) is Klagenfurt (Austria) at a distance of 70km or approximately ? minutes driving time. Kobla ski season runs from December to April.

A relatively modern ski centre located above the beautiful old lakeside town of Bohinjska Bistrica. Skiing is largely on tree-lined slopes, grassy in the summer months. The piste running from the top of the double chair lift Kobla III is 6km long. Kobla is the only ski resort in Slovenia accessible by train, with trains from Koper to Nova Gorica and from Ljubljana to Jeseinice. A snowmaking system has been in operation since 1993.

Ice skating is available on the frozen lake with skates available for rental. When the lake freezes people can enjoy a 4 km long natural skating rink.
Ice climbing is also available with an artificial ice waterfall as well as plenty of natural ones, for example the Suha valley below the alpine meadow of Blato, the Ribnica gorge, the mountain gorge below Podjelje and the waterfalls at Soteska.
Paragliding is often possible from Vogel and winter mountaineering for those already skilled can be arranged with local guides.
When there is not much snow in the valley biking and hiking may be available.
In Bohinjska Bistrica the Tomaz Godec museum has displays of the traditional local industry of leather tanning as well as the war.
Some of the hotels have leisure facilities, notably the indoor pool, sauna and solarium at the Jezero.
