Established in 1958 the American ski resort Killington lies at 1285 metres altitude in the Vermont region of the American Green. With the highest lifts and ski slopes below 2500m Killington ski area is not snow sure. Over 1435 snow cannons ensure artificial Killington snow making covers ?km of ski trails, which equates to around 70 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Killington (USA) is Boston at a distance of 257km or approximately ? minutes driving time. Killington ski season runs from October to May.

The largest ski resort in Eastern USA, Killington boasts North America's largest single-mountain lift system in terms of number of lifts. They include twelve quads, a further six triples and what was the world's fastest gondola with the world's first heated (and brightly painted) cabins. Famous for snow making, with capacity doubled between 1997 and 1999 as part of a $50 million development program, but averages six metres of natural snow anyway.

Killington is very much a ski area in the winter and non-sliding facilities are few and far between in the resort itself. Most of the off-slope activity is centred on hotel facilities - often well above the average - as well as restaurants and shops. Snowshoeing, tubing and ice skating are all offered at least on a few nights per week and snowmobiling, sleigh ride trips and a visit to a Health Spa are also possible. Excursions to historic Vermont villages and other classic ski areas like Stowe and Sugarbush are also available.
