SNO-man says
Interlaken has no skiing of its own, with limited local skiing at Habkern, but it markets itself as the ideal base for skiing the different resorts in the Jungfrau (Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren) linked by ski bus or rail (trips to Zermatt are also arranged). It's certainly a beautiful place to stay and guests profit from low season hotel rates during winter.

SNO-man says
Skiers and non-skiers should ensure they make the two most spectacular excursions, to the Jungfrauloch, Europe's highest station (a small supplement is payable for TopSki Pass holders), for the most spectacular views of the north face of the Eiger. The top section of the railway has been tunnelled through the rock face with two 'windows' cut out en route where the train stops for five minutes on each ascent and where you can look out at the dramatic scenery. The second excursion is to the Schilthorn above Mürren where a famous revolving restaurant is located, memorably featured in the early James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The views are, once again, unbelievably good.
Many other trips are offered, and a visit to the nearby Medieval Swiss capital of Berne should certainly be considered. In town there are numerous top class sporting facilities and cultural attractions, these include the Tennis and Sports centre with four indoor courts, along with golf simulator and billiards room. The indoor pool complex includes children's pool, sauna and solarium whilst the Ice Sports Centre has 4 curling rinks.
Outdoors there's riding with the Voegeli Riding School and parascending with the Ikarus Flying School. Many attractions are offered at reduced prices to holders of the Interlaken Guest Card which is provided for anyone staying overnight in Interlaken's accommodation.

"Interlaken" by any other name
The Swiss resort is also known as and has common misspellings:
The direction which the various Interlaken slopes face can make or break your ski holiday. To guarantee good snow conditions, choose a resort with piste which face the right way for the time of year you're travelling.
- In the coldest winter months of January and February pick a resort with sunny south facing slopes, so your days on the snow doesn't feel like a polar expedition. Conversely, in the warmest spring skiing months of March and especially April, a resort with cool and shady north facing trails will ensure you're not riding on slush, but benefitting from best late season snow. The best destinations have areas which face in all directions so that you're guaranteed greating conditions whatever the weather. Interlaken has slopes facing ?.
