Established in 1965 the Italian ski resort Gressoney lies at 1624 metres altitude in the Aosta Valley / Vallee d'Aoste region of the Italian Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 2970m Gressoney ski area is snow sure. Over 150 snow cannons ensure artificial Gressoney snow making covers 6km of ski trails, which equates to around 10 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Gressoney (Italy) is Turin / Torino at a distance of 100km or approximately 90 minutes driving time. Gressoney ski season runs from December to April.

There's not a huge choice of activities beyond skiing in the region, although enough to keep you busy in your spare time if you are spending full days on the piste.
Alternatives outdoors include ice climbing, ski mountaineering and snow shoe walks on nature routes in the Valle di Otro and the Parco Alta Valsesia.
Alagna has a sports centre with an ice rink nearby as well as cinema and a museum. Gressoney La Trinite offers climbing and there's a museum, swimming pool, sports centre and weekly market in neighbouring Gressoney-St-Jean.
