Located in the Paznaun Valley, Galtür is one of Austria's highest resorts. The skiing is best suited to intermediates, but there is plenty for experts too, including a memorable 3.2km black over the regional border in to Vorarlberg. A ski bus links the resort to Ischgl, opening up 310km of trails on the Silvretta Lift Pass.

Galtür's main off-slope attraction is the new Cultural and Sports Centre which was completed for December 2000. The facility offers relaxation and a swimming complex that includes sports pool, children's pool, giant slide and an adventure pool. The complex also includes indoor tennis courts, squash courts, a banquet hall and bowling alley.
Galtür believes it is the best Tyrolean climatic health resort with Austria's cleanest air and part of the purpose of the centre will be to offer treatment for ailments such as asthma and allergies. Out on the slopes you can take a snowcat ride or a sleigh ride then try parascending or paragliding overhead. Back in Galtür amenities include a bowling alley.
