The village is lovely to wander although there aren't too many shops - most are sports shops displaying their gigantic pictures of local hero Hermann.
For serious shopping and souvenir hunting, a visit to the beautiful town of Salzburg (45 minutes away) is a must. Self caterers will find in Flachau as many retail food outlets as they need, from supermarkets to small specialist food shops selling local produce.
