Established in 1950 the Austrian ski resort Ellmau lies at 820 metres altitude in the Tirol / Tyrol region of the Austrian Alps / Alpes. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 1550m Ellmau ski area is not snow sure. Over 68 snow cannons ensure artificial Ellmau snow making covers 35km of ski trails, which equates to around 70 of the ski slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Ellmau (Austria) is Salzburg at a distance of 70km or approximately 60 minutes driving time. Ellmau ski season runs from December to April.

Ellmau's top attraction is the Ellmauer Kaiserbad swimming and leisure complex which contains indoor and outdoor pools for year round use, and includes a 92 metre long slide. It contains children's pool, waterfall, water jets, water cannon and surging showers. You will also find indoor tennis, squash, sauna, hot tubs, relaxation centre, solarium, fitness centre and more. Ellmau also has indoor bowling, a further five indoor tennis courts and billiards. Sleigh rides can be organised and there's a 4.5km (3 mile) toboggan run above the resort that runs down to Ellmau. There are more than 50km (30 miles) of cleared paths for walking.
