Chamrousse skiing is presented in two ports, like the resort itself. Above Chamrousse 1750, there are plenty of blues and greens for beginners and intermediates to enjoy. The terrain above Chamrousse 1650, is more suited to advanced skiers as the terrain is more steep and varied, and offers 14 red and black runs. It is in this area that the famous downhill is found, the longest trail in resort at 4km. A lot of the 90km of piste is below the treeline, so there is plenty skiing through the forest for those who desire it, and the off-piste terrain is pretty much hazard free. Chamrousse’s slopes face west, south-west and can get a lot of sun, this does mean that later in the season the skiing can be quite hard in the morning and slushy by the afternoon.
