For something unique to Breckenridge try a Gold Mine Tour or take a guided or unguided walk around the resort to see many of the town's carefully restored and maintained century old buildings. There are two museums run by the Summit Historical Society to further inform you.
Ice skating is possible on Maggie Pond at the Village and at the Breckenridge Memorial Ice rink. Snowmobiling guided tours are also organised along the Continental Divide, including stops at ghost towns and old mining sites. The more leisurely might prefer a sleigh ride or even dog sledding. There are numerous snowshoeing trails around the area.
For indoor sports and activities The Breckenridge Recreation Centre is municipally owned and open to the public (a facility often lacking in some of the major French and North American resorts). It includes swimming pool with water slide, hot tubs, indoor tennis and squash (racquet ball) courts, a running track and gym equipment.

"Breckenridge" by any other name
The American resort is also known as Breckenridge Breckenridge Peak 9, Breckenridge Peak 10, Peak 8, Peak 7 and has common misspellings:
The direction which the various Breckenridge slopes face can make or break your ski holiday. To guarantee good snow conditions, choose a resort with piste which face the right way for the time of year you're travelling.
- In the coldest winter months of January and February pick a resort with sunny south facing slopes, so your days on the snow doesn't feel like a polar expedition. Conversely, in the warmest spring skiing months of March and especially April, a resort with cool and shady north facing trails will ensure you're not riding on slush, but benefitting from best late season snow. The best destinations have areas which face in all directions so that you're guaranteed greating conditions whatever the weather. Breckenridge has slopes facing NE.
