Established by Jozo Weider in 1941, Intrawest bought a 50% share in the area in January 1999. One of the largest year-round resorts from the dozens of Ontario ski centres. There are more facilities at Collingwood, 11km (6 miles) from the slopes. The local 18 Hole Monterra Golf course is one of Canada's top ten courses. The Toronto Ski Club is based here and is one of Canada's oldest ski clubs, founded in 1924.
