Arinsal was established in the early 1970s when the Western end of the La Massana Valley was developed. It is an attractive Catalan village, but rather spread out. It is very lively and rapidly expanding (expect building work!). The resort operates a ski bus service between Arinsal and La Massana

There's a sports centre in Ordino approximately 5km (3 miles) away. Other choices include The Palau de Gel (Ice Palace) in Canillo, approximately 25km (16 miles) from Arinsal, which is one of the largest ice rinks in Europe. It also has a swimming pool, squash courts, sauna, gymnasium and restaurant.
The Caldea complex in Andorra la Vella is a great place to if you can handle soaking in a beautiful hot spring under a star filled sky. The facilities are very impressive with linked indoor and outdoor pools, fountains and waterfalls, saunas, Jacuzzis, Turkish baths, hydrotherapy, sunbeds and massage. The Palau de Gel (Ice Palace) in Canillo, approximately 30km (19 miles) from Pal, is one of the largest in Europe. It has an Olympic sized swimming pool, squash courts, sauna, gymnasium and restaurant. The nearest sports complex to Pal itself is in Ordino, approx. 5km (3 miles) away.
